- Choose busy campus spots such as a student union, library entrance, dining area, lobby, or front desk.
- Do not meet somewhere isolated, hidden, or hard for others to find.
- Leave if something feels off or the plan changes in a way that makes you uncomfortable.
Keep personal details private
- Do not post exact room numbers publicly.
- Avoid sharing sensitive personal information, payment details, passwords, or codes.
- Use DormShare chat to coordinate pickup details so there is a record of the conversation.
Check the item before paying
- During beta, payment and pickup are arranged between buyer and seller.
- DormShare does not process payments or charge fees.
- Use seller payment preferences as a starting point, then confirm details in chat.
- Inspect the item condition before money changes hands.
- Ask questions, request extra photos if needed, and make sure the item matches the listing.
- DormShare does not guarantee item quality or user behavior.
Watch for suspicious behavior
- Be careful with pressure tactics, unusual payment requests, fake screenshots, or requests to move off-platform too quickly.
- Report suspicious users, listings, or messages from the listing, conversation, or Settings safety area.
- Trust your judgment and step away from any meetup or transaction that feels unsafe.
